Fragility in Haryana
Haryana depends so largely on it for home and agricultural purposes. However, excessive extraction of groundwater for agriculture and insufficient recharge systems have resulted in groundwater depletion. As a result, the state’s water tables have dropped, making it more challenging for farmers to obtain groundwater for agriculture, the state’s main industry.
Due to industrial waste, inappropriate sewage disposal, and excessive fertilizer and pesticide usage in agriculture, many areas of Haryana have contaminated water. As a result, the quality of existing water supplies has deteriorated, causing health concerns to the people.
State neighbors like Punjab and Delhi share Haryana’s river resources, particularly the Yamuna River. Water-related fragility has been made even worse by conflicts over pollution and water sharing, which frequently result in hostilities and court fights.
Haryana continues to use a lot of outdated and ineffective irrigation methods. In addition to wasting water, these practices place a great deal of strain on the water resources that are already accessible.
Rainfall during the monsoon season is crucial to Haryana’s agricultural sector. The uncertain nature of agriculture as a result of erratic monsoons and shifting rainfall patterns brought on by climate change has left farmers increasingly vulnerable.
Water supplies have been depleted as a result of rapid urbanization in places such as Gurgaon and Faridabad. Providing a constant and appropriate water supply for the city’s rising population has become a major concern.
Solutions by Jal Manch

Programmes for Rainwater Harvesting
Promoting and facilitating rainwater collection at both the individual and communal levels. We provide technical support, host workshops and provide financial aids to carry out the whole harvesting process.

Management of Groundwater
We work together with local government and community leaders to advance environmentally responsible groundwater management techniques. This involves restricting the extraction of groundwater.

Campaigns for Public Awareness
We engage in extensive public education initiatives to convey the value of water conservation. Such initiatives will highlight the need to save water bodies, practice responsible agriculture, and use water resources efficiently.

Economical Agricultural Practises
Promoting water-saving irrigation methods like sprinkler systems and drip irrigation will require strong collaboration with farmers. We provide training programmes and incentives to encourage the adoption of these practices.

Treatment of Wastewater
We make sure that sewage treatment facilities should be built and maintained to handle home and industrial wastewater. Jal Manch also checks that treated water may be safely utilized for non-potable uses such as irrigation.

Durable Urban Planning
We work together with the authorities in charge of urban planning to make sure that every new construction includes water-saving landscaping and infrastructure.

Industry Partnership
Jal Manch collaborates with businesses to establish water recycling and reuse practices. To limit the amount of water used in industrial processes, we promote the adoption of environmentally friendly technology.

Programmes in Schools and Colleges
To create a feeling of water responsibility in the next generation, we offer instructional programmes in schools and institutions. We teach pupils about the need of water conservation.
